Check-In, Check-Out, & In-Room Needs

  • Check-out is at 11:00 AM and check-in is at 2:00 PM. If you arrive before 4:30 PM, we ask that you please check in at the office to ensure your room is ready. RV Park check-out is at 12:00 PM and check-in at 1:00 PM.

  • Early check-in is only available if your assigned room is already clean and ready. Late check-outs are occasionally possible; please call our office at (805) 594-6500 to inquire about availability.

  • The base is accessible 24/7, so you may arrive anytime after 2:00 PM. Since we use a keyless entry system, your digital access code will allow you to enter your room at your convenience. For after-hours door lockout issues only, please call (805) 431-1099.

    • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM: Call the Guest Services Desk at (805) 594-6500.

    • After Hours: For lockout needs only, call (805) 431-1099.

  • We want to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible! For all non-emergency room needs, please contact the Guest Services Desk:

    Available services include:

    • Fresh towels and extra linens.

    • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.).

    • Housekeeping room makeup requests.

    • Technical assistance with the TV or Wi-Fi.

    Note: If you have a request outside of these hours, please contact us first thing in the morning or leave a voicemail message, and we will prioritize your room!

  • Life-Threatening Emergencies:

    Dial 911 immediately.

    All Other Emergencies:

    • After Hours: Call the Front Security Gate at (805) 594-6571.

Base Access & Reservations

  • Accommodations through the Camp San Luis Obispo Billeting Office are available to all Service Members (including family), Retirees, and Honorably Discharged Veterans, as well as California Military Department personnel, select state and DOD employees, and guests officially authorized by the Commanding Officer.

  • All eligible billeting guests are permitted on base upon presenting a Real ID, a valid Passport, or a Military ID at the main gate. Additionally, please ensure vehicle drivers have their car registration and insurance information ready to present if requested by security personnel.

  • Reservations for leisure travel can be made 30 days in advance. Service Members who are training on base may make reservations up to 90 days in advance.

  • While we strive to honor all confirmed reservations, please note that Service Members on official orders take precedence over leisure travelers. In the rare event that mission requirements or rank necessitate moving a guest or adjusting a reservation, we will do our absolute best to accommodate the needs of all our guests and provide a suitable alternative.

  • No. To ensure room availability for training Soldiers and other eligible guests, we do not offer online booking. Please contact our office directly to make a reservation.

  • Yes. If you are an eligible user, you may sponsor other guests to stay with you who would not otherwise be eligible for Billeting.

  • No. Uber, DoorDash, and other delivery services cannot deliver directly to your room. Drivers can meet you in the parking lot located just before the front gate.

Dining & Fitness

  • Generally, yes. However, during periods when a large number of Soldiers are on base, the DFAC may restrict meals to training personnel only.

    • Breakfast: 0600–0730 ($10.50)

    • Lunch: 1200–1330 ($12.25)

    • Dinner: 1700–1830 ($12.25)

  • The fitness center is available to DoD Uniformed Personnel, retirees, and California Military Department personnel with valid ID. All personnel must provide proof of eligibility to Range Control in the main Headquarters Building (738). Please note: The Billeting Office does not manage or provide access to the fitness center.

  • Yes! We welcome you to bring your BBQ, provided it is used safely according to the following guidelines:

    • Placement: All BBQs must be used on a concrete surface at least 50 feet away from any residence or building.

    • RV Sites: You are welcome to use your BBQ on the concrete pads at all full-hookup RV sites.

    • Dry Camping: BBQs are permitted in dry camping areas only if they are designed to be immediately extinguished once turned off (such as propane units).

Room Amenities & Wi-Fi

  • Yes, every room has Wi-Fi at no additional cost. All rooms, houses, and apartments include refrigerators, coffee makers, and TVs with Roku. Most rooms also have microwaves (with the exception of the 600 building).

  • We do not allow pets of any kind in our quarters. There is a minimum $150 cleaning fee if evidence of a pet is found in a room. Note: Service animals are exempted with prior notification required to ensure appropriate quarters are reserved.

  • All non-disposable items found in guest quarters are held in our Lost & Found for up to 30 days. If you suspect you have left something behind, please contact our office immediately at (805) 594-6500.

Payments

  • Your card will be processed on the morning of your arrival. Once successfully charged, our staff will send you a digital code to access your room starting at the 2:00 PM check-in time.

  • Reservations must be canceled at least 72 hours in advance. Late cancellations will result in a charge for the first night’s stay.
